Week 4 comes with a very average schedule. There is a 10-game Wednesday slate that some teams will have to work around, but besides that, there isn’t anything particularly notable going on in Week 4. At this point in the season, it’s good to get a fairly bland schedule. Weeks like this make it easier to figure out where our teams are at. This early in the season, a team’s record isn’t necessarily a good reflection of the quality of that team. Strength of schedule has an outsized impact on records early in the season. A great team may have a middling record because it happened to play the other great teams in its league early on. A bad team may look like it is in good shape because it faced off against bottom-feeders or against teams getting hit hard by the injury bug. There are also more outlier performances—in both directions—early in the season. Players are still getting used to new systems, and not everyone is in midseason shape.
