26/27 Week 2 Pickups

The weekly pickup lists include three buckets. Those buckets are Strong Standard League Adds, Low-end Standard League Adds, and Deep League Adds. Starting in Week 3, I will add a previous week(s) pickup lists to each pickup bucket. Instead of writing about the same players week after week, I’ll be adding and removing previously discussed players from the lists. I’ll also be moving players up and down levels depending on how they play. For example, if Tre Jones or Khaman Maluach has a strong Week 2, they could move up from the Low-end Standard League Add list to the Strong Standard League Add list. Jalen Smith is part of the Strong Standard League Add bucket for now, but will likely end up in the Deep League Adds bucket once Nic Claxton returns.

Note: The number beside Y! is the percentage of leagues a player is rostered in. Usually, the players highlighted on this list will be rostered in fewer than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.

Standard League (12 Team) Strong Adds

Moussa Diabate (Y! – 51%) – Diabate looks like he is going to be in a larger role this season than he was in 2025-2026 when he was just a borderline 12-team player. He was a bigger part of the rotation in preseason than expected and played almost 34 minutes in the Hornets’ season-opening win against the Nets. In 2025-2026, Diabate played more than he did on Wednesday just four times. In an expanded role, the center should average close to a double-double while also giving us about one steal and one block per game. Diabate should also be a strong source of FG% impact even though his usage will be low. In 2025-2026, he shot an excellent 63.1 percent from the floor. In both 10- and 12-team leagues, he needs to be rostered.
