Aday Mara (Pick Up in 14+ team leagues): Mara is fine to pick up in 14-team leagues with so many low-end bigs struggling at the moment. However, in anything shallower, he should be viewed as just a flier. Even with Chet Holmgren out of the picture, it’s hard to see how Mara’s minutes end up significantly above 20. Isaiah Hartenstein is going to play around 28 MPG, so for Mara to have any shot at being a 12-team option, he’s going to have to play a fair amount of minutes beside the Thunder’s starting center. That’s unlikely to happen. The two bigs have shared the court for just seven minutes this season. Through seven games, in 18.1 MPG, Mara is averaging 6.4 PPG on 55.9 FG%, 5.6 RPG, 1.1 APG, 0.1 SPG, and 1.7 BPG.
Jaylin Williams (Pick Up in 16+ team leagues): Williams is worth keeping an eye on in shallower leagues because on nights when he’s playing big minutes, he can help in points, threes, rebounds, and blocks. However, for now, he’s just a 16-team league pickup because it’s unclear if he has a shot at playing close to 30 MPG consistently. He started tonight but played just 20 minutes and hasn’t topped the 26-minute mark even once this season. While Williams shouldn’t be added in shallower settings at the moment, he will be a solid streamer early in Week 4. The Thunder begin a stretch of three games in four nights on Tuesday of Week 4.
