22/23 Week 12 Schedule Analysis and Streaming Guide

This is the final week of the annoying schedule template that we have become accustomed to. After this week, we don’t have to worry about being overloaded on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until the second last week of the season. Streaming will be much easier after this week. If you are out of the playoffs or think that you’ll fall into the bottom half of your league shortly due to injury, stop stashing and start streaming. We can’t win every matchup, but minimizing the damage created by injuries is extremely important. Losing 5-4 allows us to fight another day. If we start taking 7-2 losses because we stashed mediocre injured players, we can get in trouble quickly.

Schedule Analysis

  • This is an extremely busy week. A whopping 21 teams play four games. Only eight teams play three games and the Wizards play two games. The only player on the Wizards that is startable in 12-team weekly leagues is Kristaps Porzingis. You do not want to gamble on Bradley Beal coming off of a hamstring issue. Unless he blows up twice, the injury-prone guard is only going to be a top-200ish option in Week 12. Borderline players on three-game teams are sits in weekly leagues. You can get away with starting them when 12-to-14 teams play four times, but not when over two-thirds of the league have heavy schedules. Even players like Draymond GreenWendell Carter Jr., and Klay Thompson are going to be weak starts due to their three-game schedules.
  • There are back-to-back sets starting every day but Monday. Unfortunately, due to Wednesday and Friday being so busy, many of those sets will not be particularly useful. Unless your team has a lot of quality games this week, targeting players who play on both Tuesday and Thursday is going to be a more prudent strategy than chasing the back-to-back sets tied to Wednesday and Friday.
  • The Kings, Thunder, and Bucks start back-to-back sets on Tuesday. The Magic, Grizzlies, and Rockets play on both Wednesday and Thursday. The Clippers and Nuggets begin back-to-back sets on Thursday. On Friday, the Spurs, Lakers, Pelicans, and Bulls do the same. The Jazz and Mavericks are the only two teams that play on both Saturday and Sunday. The Grizzlies play on both Sunday of Week 12 and Monday of Week 13.
  • The Rockets are the only team that starts a stretch of three games in four nights on Monday. From Tuesday until Friday, the Thunder and Bucks have three games. From Wednesday through Saturday, the Magic, Spurs, Lakers, Pelicans, and Bulls play three times. On Thursday, the Jazz, Clippers, and Mavericks begin a stretch of three games in four nights.
  • The Celtics and Jazz are the two teams that play on both Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday next week. Derrick White is an outstanding streaming target. He’s been getting around 30 minutes a night lately. Malcolm Brogdon’s role has been minimized as of late, but he’s still worth adding if he’s available due to the schedule. The rest of the Celtics are just deep-league options. Collin SextonWalker Kessler, and Malik Beasley are all excellent streamers as well, although in a lot of leagues, all three will already be rostered. The Magic and Mavericks also play on both Thursday and Saturday.
  • The Grizzlies and Magic do not start their week until Wednesday. The suspended Magic will not start their week until Thursday. Dropping role players on both teams is a great away to pick up extra games early in the week.
  • The Knicks, Bucks, Nuggets, and Wizards finish their week on Friday. Dropping their role players for a player on the Mavericks or Jazz will allow you to pick up two extra games using only one move.
  • The Jazz have this week’s best schedule and not only because they play on the three quiet days. They also have the easiest four-game schedule. All four games are plus-matchups for fantasy purposes. The Grizzlies have one of the league’s top defenses, but they are a good matchup for fantasy purposes due to their quick pace. The Blazers, Hornets, and Sixers also have very strong schedules this week.
  • The Bulls have a horrendous four-game schedule. Not only do three of their games come on the busy days, all four of their matchups are tough. I wouldn’t expect much from their role players this week and don’t be surprised if the top three have a down week. Of the three-game teams, the Nuggets have the toughest schedule. Their three-game week also includes a back-to-back set which means that Jamal Murray will only play two games next week. Sit him in weekly leagues.
