I’ve put together a new projections set for Yahoo’s new “High Score” format. High Score is a twist on traditional points leagues. In the High Score format, only the single-best fantasy performance from each of your six starters counts. The format encourages you to chase explosive players over steadier options. It also boosts the value of players who will be in and out of the lineup. Load management is not a factor in this setting, which increases the value of high-upside, risky options like Joel Embiid and Zion Williamson.
The scoring system heavily favors high-usage guards. Rebounds are less valuable, assists are more valuable, and turnovers don’t count in this format. Here is the scoring system:
Points – 1
Rebounds – 1
Assists – 2
Steals – 3
Blocks – 3
I won’t be putting out a Top 150 for the format this year, but I will be playing the new game and could expand my coverage of the format in the future if the demand is there. The projections have been added to the Points Leagues Projections page.
