25/26 When To Consider Guide – Eight and Nine-Category Leagues

One of the questions I get asked the most is “When is it okay to reach for X player?”. That’s a very reasonable question. In competitive leagues, we often have to reach for the players we want. This guide answers that question for the players currently ranked inside the top 100 in Elite Fantasy Basketball’s nine-category Top 150. Whether or not a reach is a viable move will be dependent on your build. Because of that, I’ve included notes in this guide to make that clear. For example, if you are punting FT%, Jakob Poeltl is viable in the fourth in punt threes or punt FT%. However, that doesn’t mean that you should take him in that range since he is usually available in the sixth round or later. It just means that you could take him that high and end up happy with your pick. I’ve also included a column that looks at when you should start considering each player if they are not a strong fit for your build. This will help you react appropriately when players you didn’t think would be available at your pick are available.

The comments assume you play in a 12-team league, but this guide will be useful for players in both shallower and deeper leagues as well, since it provides recommendations for draft positions instead of rounds. All recommendations are for H2H leagues.
