24/25 Punt FT% Guides

The Punt FT% Strategy

The punt FT% strategy is in the midst of a resurgence. The build was starting to lose some of its luster toward the end of the 2010s due to some long-time top targets like Andre Drummond and DeAndre Jordan fading into irrelevancy and the league rapidly moving away from double-big lineups. Things continued to move in the wrong direction right up until last draft season. Then, the fantasy gods (also known as the guys who come up with the draft room rankings at Yahoo and ESPN) gave the build a massive gift. That gift was pricing most of this build’s top big man targets at a discount. In 2023-2024, this was a very easy strategy to pull off because you could find potential top-25 punt FT% weapons in the middle rounds or later. You could load up on elite perimeter options who bring the heat in points, threes, assists, and steals in the early rounds and still pick up punt FT% big men with early-round potential in rounds five and beyond. The same setup exists this year, except there are even more great fits for this build in both the middle and later rounds. The later rounds are especially loaded with excellent options this season. In fact, I struggled to put together that portion of this guide because there are so many players in that range that are no-brainer pickups for the punt FT% build. It was difficult to figure out who to highlight since so many players are worth mentioning.
