23/24 Week 21 Pickups

Standard League (12 Team) Strong Adds

Amen Thompson – It’s still early, but Amen does look like the biggest beneficiary of the Alperen Sengun injury. He’s starting, and it looks like he’s going to be playing minutes in at least the mid-20s most nights. Thompson could be a top-100 player in a role of that size and could flirt with the top 50 if he starts to play 30 MPG. The rookie has been lights-out as a starter this year. Over his eight starts, he’s managed 12.6 PPG on 62.5 FG%, 0.0 3PG, 10.8 RPG, 3.9 APG, 1.9 SPG, and 0.5 BPG in 31.5 MPG. In Roto, he is a must-add. In H2H, it’s a slightly trickier decision due to the Rockets’ schedule. Houston only has one game left this week and plays only three games in Week 21. If you are in a tight battle in the playoffs right now, feel free to pass on Amen for a player with two games left in Week 20. Thompson does have the potential to swing leagues, but having that potential on your roster won’t mean much if you are in the fifth-place game.
