Punting threes is a very viable strategy and it works well with many of the first-round picks. The only issue I have with this build is that it’s unlikely to be my first choice for any of the first-round targets. If I’m fortunate enough to draft Karl-Anthony Towns in the first round, I’m going to look to punt assists or points before I consider punting threes. If I select LeBron James, my first thought is going to be the punt FT% strategy.
